About Me
I was born in The Bluegrass State in the 80’s, and grew up in Lexington, KY with a few stints across the pond in Austria and Ireland (thanks to an economics professor father on a 7 year sabbatical rotation). After 4 years competing for the top debate program in the nation at Western Kentucky University, I laid down roots on the left side of my home state.
I entered the rough working world as a coach for that same debate program (it seemed a shame to leave so soon). My job duties included going on the hunt for obscure communication theory articles and convincing college-age students their voices mattered. After working for WKU for three years, I moved back to Lexington and started working concurrently at a web marketing firm and a local, cooperative grocery store. While I worked in many capacities at the latter, I eventually landed in a marketing role there, too.
I have long loved scrolling through blogs of all sorts. So, while living and working in Lexington, I decided I’d give it a go myself and started Finding Delight. I chose the name in honor of one of my mantras. FIND DELIGHT. (Here’s my very first post!) I continue to live life in the pursuit of delight, honoring life’s simple and unexpected pleasures, and this blog has helped me to do so in so many ways.
My husband and I now live in Alabama (after 3 wild years in Miami — the big city life just wasn’t for us) with our ragdoll cat, Wink. Currently, I am doing freelance marketing for a bunch of awesome clients and managing this blog (w/ some other writing projects in the works!). I love yoga, watching documentaries, reading books, and going on outdoor adventures.
