mid-week round-up

What are you up to this week? We had three of our dear friends down to visit this past weekend and I’m headed to Indianapolis next weekend to spend time with my bestie and podcasting co-host, Katie. We’ll be recording a live episode of our show and also seeing My Favorite Murder on tour. I’m so freaking excited!!! Suffice it to say, a work week book-ended by all this fun is not the easiest. ; ) Hope you have a great Wednesday, and here are a few things I’ve enjoyed reading this week…

What are you up to this week? Yesterday was Mardi Gras and I celebrated with a plate of blueberry pancakes for breakfast and an evening out at our local parade. Even though by the end of the festivities I couldn’t feel my fingers or toes (BRR!), it was the sweetest small town event and I’m so happy we decided to take part. Did you do anything to mark the day? Hope the rest of your work week flies by, and now take a look at the links…

What’s everyone up to? Last week was my grandma’s funeral in Ohio. While the occasion was certainly not a happy one, it was nice to spend some time with my family for a few days. As soon as I arrived back in Alabama, Chet had to leave for a work conference. Now we’re settling back in to routines after a hectic stretch of days, and welcoming the little glimpses of Spring. The sun has finally returned after what felt like weeks of rain (seriously, our yard looked like a little lake!) and Mardi Gras is right around the corner. Have a great Wednesday, and for your reading pleasure, a dozen links…

What are you up to this week? I’m feeling a little under the weather. The freezing temps followed by a few days of weird-ass balmy climate has everyone battling the ookies it seems. Are you in the same boat? BLECH! Here’s to a fast recovery. I’ll be taking it easy over the next few days and hopefully be right as rain by the weekend. I’d love to hit up a few thrift stores, DIY some coconut body scrub (#WinterSelfCare), and attend a film screening at my husband’s university. What’s new in your lives, loves? Are you in the POLAR VORTEX? I was secretly very excited to get snow yesterday (all the businesses and schools closed the night before!) but it was a false alarm and we only got the cold. Hello Delight-Seekers! And welcome to the first mid-week round-up of 2019… How is your January faring? After all the holiday travel in December, I’m happy to be returning to a slower pace. The past few days have been filled with work and good amount of CHILL-TIME…and I’m just fine with that. The weather is beautiful and sunny today (I had an hour long work call this morning that I was all too happy to take outside) and we’re hoping it holds to accommodate some outdoor projects we need to tackle this weekend. Hope your new year is off to a magnificent start, and here are a few fun things you might want to check out before you go…

What’s going on this week? The countdown to Christmas is truly ON!! We had a wonderful long weekend in Louisiana visiting with Chet’s family. We’re off for round 2 of holiday travels this weekend so for the next few days I’ll be running around like a mad woman trying to get everything done.
