mid-week round-up

What are you up to this week? We’re grateful for a slight respite from the July heat thanks to a little bit of a cold front blowing through (I walked to the library yesterday afternoon without feeling like I was swimming through humidity!). Hoping these sweet breezes stay put through the weekend! Do you have any fun plans? Enjoy the rest of your work week, and here are some links to check out…

What’s everyone up to? Last week was my grandma’s funeral in Ohio. While the occasion was certainly not a happy one, it was nice to spend some time with my family for a few days. As soon as I arrived back in Alabama, Chet had to leave for a work conference. Now we’re settling back in to routines after a hectic stretch of days, and welcoming the little glimpses of Spring. The sun has finally returned after what felt like weeks of rain (seriously, our yard looked like a little lake!) and Mardi Gras is right around the corner. Have a great Wednesday, and for your reading pleasure, a dozen links…

Hello! I hope everyone in the States had some nice time off for Thanksgiving. We went to Kentucky for most of the week and spent time with my mom as well as our friends. We ate, shopped, and laughed! I am so grateful that we live closer to family and friends then we did down in South Florida. Bring on Christmas travels!! Now, I’m back into the swing of things with regular life and today I have plans to get a flu shot (BOO!) and start putting up some Christmas decor (YAY!) What are you up to?

What’s up? How’s everyone doing? My birthday was on Friday and I had a wonderful weekend of celebrating. It finally felt like TRUE Fall so all celebrations were appropriately autumnal — read: apple orchard visits, pumpkin pie baking, grilled brats, and Oktoberfest beers. We’ve made it to Wednesday, folks! If you’ve got a long weekend on the horizon you may find it a bit hard to focus these next few days. I hear ya! I’m hoping this weekend provides a lovely summer send-off. As for last weekend, we met our friend Chad in Nashville and attended a film festival. So fun! What’s new in your world? Inspired by our recent foray into “local park as personal backyard,” we nabbed a sun-shield from Amazon.
