A Tour of My New Pocket Letter Box

For Christmas this year, my mom gave me the sweetest gift… My grandma’s old sewing box!! She left some of the bits and bobs that had been inside for sewing, but also filled it to the brim with new pocket letter materials. Am I spoiled or what?!

Wanna take a look inside?

Here’s the tray on top…

and below that, MORE GOODIES!

Stickers…

Ephemera…

Plus, 2 collections (and 1 bonus kit!) from my favorite Etsy shop, Peachy Skeen

I could spend hours scrolling through all the vintage collections in this shop. Highly recommend checking it out if you like pocket letters, planning, pen pals, etc. I got a collection with a purple theme and one that was farm-themed!

Here’s the shop’s card if you want more info…

My mom is the absolute best for putting together such a lovely gift. I love that it is a treasured heirloom, but updated in such a fun way! I know that making things with the supplies inside will bring me so much joy. ❤

Now then, who wants a pocket letter???

Did you get anything fun and unexpected for Christmas?

What’s up? How’s everyone doing? My birthday was on Friday and I had a wonderful weekend of celebrating. It finally felt like TRUE Fall so all celebrations were appropriately autumnal — read: apple orchard visits, pumpkin pie baking, grilled brats, and Oktoberfest beers. Hope y’all are enjoying the season as much as I am! Now, here are a few links I found for your enjoyment…

Etsy Store Swoon: Clare Elsaesser

These are a few of my favorite prints from the fantastic Etsy shop, which I’ve been swooning over for weeks — Clare Elsaesser. The women floating through or wading into water and carrying armloads of colorful flowers give the paintings a beautiful ethereal quality. But the little details, like a messy top knot or a polka dot print, combined with the obstructed face, make it seem as though these portraits could be anyone. Does that make sense? Wouldn’t you love to hang one in your home? I’m obsessed.

A Whimsical Round-Up

Honestly feeling too tired today to do anything but Google whimsical woodland gentlemen. And wouldn’t it be a little selfish of me to NOT share my findings? Obvi.

Here are 5 items you should probably purchase if you, like me, low-key wanted to marry David the Gnome when you were little because his main form of transportation was a FOX and he slept in a cupboard!

David the Gnome Tea Towel – $8.00

The More You Gnome Zen Garden – $29.99

Gnome Planner Stickers – $2.75

Rolling With the Gnomies Mug – $14.99

Cheeky Gnome Wrapping Paper – 5 sheets for $15

Now I really want to DIY a dupe for that gnome zen garden. Maybe Dollar Tree still has fairy garden accessories for sale.

Ok, time to return to productivity and the far-less-whimsical real world. But no need for you to do the same! In fact, go ahead and click the “David the Gnome” link up top. You’ll be rewarded with 26 episodes of gnome shenanigans! You’re welcome.

Cool Poster Round-Up!

After a recent apartment refresh (new couch! score!), I’ve been feeling especially design inclined. “What other updates should we make to our space?” I asked myself. So, I took to Etsy and descended down the rabbit hole on a variety of decorative elements. What struck me most were all the beautiful posters! And they’re all so affordable! Here’s a round-up of a few of my favorites…

Hand-lettered love.

*heart eye emoji* I just found the Etsy shop AllieRuth which specializes in hand-lettered and illustrated stationery, mugs and bags. I’m especially loving this shopping tote

So stylish and graceful, don’t you think? I wish I could buy it all! Go check out the shop, if you feel so inclined. And follow Allie, the designer and owner, on Instagram.

P.S. I’m also swooning over the custom calligraphy and illustration stamps that can be used to make DIY wedding invites! Don’t worry, this engaged lady took note of that one!

A fun bike accessory for wine-lovers.

bicycle wine rack

Now this is rather a niche item. But LORD if you know an avid cyclist with a penchant for the grapey-grape, you could certainly win a LOT of brownie points if you gifted them this bike accessory. Etsy seller oopsmark hand makes these bicycle wine racks with olive oil treated, vegetable tanned leather and antique brass fasteners. Wouldn’t it be fun to strap in your favorite bottle of Pinot and ride off into the sunset towards a dinner party?

P.S. My love lies a little more strongly with the hand-crafted yoga mat strap. Dinner parties be damned! I’ve got sun’s to salute and crow poses to conquer!

Introducing the illest stitches in Chicago…

sick beet 1

Today, I’d love to showcase the fabulous new Etsy shop, Sick Beet Stitch. Based in Chicago, the shop offers unconventional hand-embroidery lovingly stitched by owner and creator Robyn Novak. Wouldn’t her work make the perfect addition to a gallery wall? Or a meaningful gift for the keeper of all your inside jokes? I love the collection’s mixture of tongue-and-cheek references and dainty images. And each piece seems incredibly well thought out! Did you clock the double check mark next to “silence” above? Made me laugh out loud. Check out some other pieces…
