So I had a link post ready to go up on Wednesday and totally forgot to publish it. I guess that’s what happens when you go on a little mid-week trip to Delray Beach. Whoops! Our friends Carrie and Ganer (who visited us last week in Miami) were on the second leg of their Florida vacay and graciously invited us for some extended fun at the beach. We jumped at the chance, and had so much fun eating tacos, lounging in the sand, and collecting seashells. Carrie is an extremely talented photographer (she’s shooting our wedding!!) and asked if Chet and I would like to do an evening couples shoot by the water. Ummm, YES PLEASE! Pictured above is a little preview. I can’t stop looking at them! Those colors!!! Go check out Carrie’s site  —> Sur La Lune Photography —> she does INCREDIBLE work.

Anyways, I thought I’d go ahead and pop up these links for you (a couple days late), share a few photos, and get back to regularly scheduled programming on Monday. Have a great weekend!!!

How’s your week going? Enjoying this hump day? Yesterday I received a very exciting package in the mail…my wedding dress! I’m giving it a few more days to make sure I’m absolutely certain but I think this one is the one. Eeeee! Speaking of exciting–isn’t this week the best? Star Wars Day today, Cinco de Mayo tomorrow, and then Derby Day followed by Mother’s Day! Let’s celebrate ’em all! Now for some links…

Welcome to Wednesday! How has everyone been? Last week Chet was on Spring Break so we were able to sneak away to the beach a couple times. I finished this book with my toes in the sand. Not exactly light, fluffy beach reading but fascinating just the same. Now I’m reading a book about home design, feng shui, and self awareness. It includes a lot of exercises and self-guided meditations to help you design a “home for your heart.” Yesterday, I completed an activity where I sketched out the floor-plan of a dream-house I “visited” while meditating. Apparently I want a 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage with a big front porch, screened in breakfast nook, and a table specifically reserved for crafting. Sounds about right. (Does all of that sound crazy? Meh. I’m into it, whatevs.) Anyways, this week I’ve been taking it easy and trying to get as much work done as possible because I’m headed back to Bowling Green on Friday, get back Monday, and then Chet and I are off to Gainesville the following Friday to judge at a national speech tournament! Should be a fun couple of weeks! Now, on to the links…

Hi loves! How’s your week going so far? Chet is back from a week-long work trip and I am ever so glad!!! This week’s forecast is full of warm and sunny weather so we headed to the beach for a couple of hours yesterday. We are also planning on hitting up the pool and maybe sauntering down to a new-to-us park I found while on an evening stroll last week. We’ve also been researching potential locations to go camping in the near future. I’ve found a few that look promising, but I’d love to know if you’ve ever been camping around South Florida, The Everglades, or The Keys! Any spots we should know about? Anywho, enough dawdling…ON TO THE LINKS…

Hi y’all! Hope everyone impacted by Winter Storm Jonas enjoyed their snow days. We had a picnic lunch by the ocean on Saturday and I enjoyed snapping pictures to send to my home-bound snow bunnies up north. Heehee! A sun-spotted sea captain warned me that I could still get sun-burned in “this cold weather.” (It was 70 degrees.) Noted, sir. This week I’m enjoying working with the sliding door in my bedroom wide open and re-watching the first season of Downton Abbey in the evenings (I’ve finally convinced Chet to watch it!). According to several news sources, winter has arrived in South Florida! While that translates to temperatures in the 60’s, and high 60’s at that, I’ll take it! How was your weekend, my loves? We had a fantastic out-of-town visitor for ours and, despite a never-ending thunderstorm on Saturday which kept us from the beach, managed to show off Miami’s warm weather with a few, quick outdoor adventures as well as enjoy a tiny umbrella clad cocktail. (We also ate our weight in Cuban food at Sergio’s and bounced off the wall for a solid hour after downing a glass of Cafe Bombon.) With just a few more days until we head out of town for the holidays, I’m planning on wrapping Christmas presents tonight. Hope your week is grand, and here’s a quick play-by-play of my most recent internet activity…

Happy December, everyone! While Miami looks nothing like the picture above (in December or ANY month), after decorating our apartment for Christmas and doing a bit of holiday shopping, I’m feeling in quite the seasonal mood. This week, I’m counting down the minutes until Friday evening when my best friend’s plane lands and we can spend a weekend catching up and having a blast. Can’t wait!!! How’s everyone enjoying their Thanksgiving week? We’ll be dining with one of Chet’s colleague’s family tomorrow, and the rest of the week I’m hoping to avoid the holiday shopping crazed crowds! We’re planning to get out of dodge completely on Black Friday and relax by Biscayne Bay. The weather in South Florida is perfect right now for just chilling outside for hours at a time. I can imagine the breeze by the water is going to be bliss. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving full of friends, family and food! And here are some links to celebrate this short week…
