mid-week round-up

What are you up to, my loves? This past weekend Chet and I explored Coconut Grove. The temperature felt quite mild due to it’s proximity to the water but the humidity was still as gnarly and tropical as ever! Chet vlogged the whole adventure if you’d like to take a look HERE. Yesterday was a really productive day for me job-wise and I hope that work flow continues the rest of the week. I think this was due in large part to Chet fixing our internet which had been super spotty and annoying for the last week. Finally, we watched the movie Faults last night. Have you seen it? I love anything about cults so I was a huge fan. Have a great week, guys! And here’s a little reading material…

An adorable storage container cabin.

What’s going on beyond the crop?

My gut reaction to refugees being housed on the grounds of former concentration camp, Dachau, was horror, but now I’m not sure. Thoughts?

How is everyone doing this week? Not loving all these rainy days we’ve been getting! It’s definitely warm enough for the pool so why can’t the sun just peek out a little bit! Oh well, I guess this is what Fall in Florida is like. Anyways, the threat of rain inspired us to go to the art museum the other day so I can’t complain TOO much. The exhibits were beautiful! Also, did anyone watch the So You Think You Can Dance finale? This was such a good season!!! I think I’ve successfully convinced Chet that we will be replacing it in our weekly line-up with Dancing With the Stars (which just started on Monday). I’ve only caught bits and pieces of this show over the years but I’m ready to dive in. The “stars” this year look nuts! Hope the rest of your week brings you lots of happiness, and here are a few links for you to enjoy today…

Joni Mitchell’s breakfast of champions.

I’m a Samantha with a touch of Molly. You?

I suddenly want to add a cute kitten to my desk set-up.

BRB, off to convince Chet that we need to make mini no-knead pizzas for Pizza Friday.

Hey friends! We had the best time this weekend! Thankfully, Hurricane Erika turned into just a bit of rain by the time she reached us on Sunday. Now we’re back to hot and sunny days and floating in the pool whenever we get a free hour. Despite the gloomy weekend weather, we managed to pack in trips to Ikea (followed by several hours of furniture assembly), a little gyro shop, and an arcade. And I’ve already been loving working from my new desk this week! Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday, and here are some links for you to enjoy…

What are you up to this week? Yesterday we went to the pool (again!) and had it all to ourselves. And last night we watched So You Think You Can Dance. Have y’all been watching this season? I LOVE Gaby and Jaja! Chet is going to ask his students today for hole-in-the-wall Cuban restaurants so we can check one out this weekend. Can’t wait. Have a great week, loves! Here are a few links for you to peruse. Once you’ve clicked ’em all you’ll be THAT much closer to the weekend! Enjoy…

zebraWhat are you up to this week, loves? We saw a Bluegrass band play Monday night at the weekly Southland Jamboree. It was nice to have an excuse to eat dinner outside and we even (accidentally) showed up matching.  It took my mom pointing it out for us to notice! Thanks for all your love on my barrage of social media activity about our recent trip to Savannah. I had such a wonderful time and can’t wait to go back. And shout out to the new Mr. and Mrs. Berger!

OH, and speaking of Savannah, thanks to the million hour car ride I’m now obsessed with Snapchat. So…follow me at bberg1012 if you’re into Snappin’! Now onto the links…

Hey friends! What’s new? This past weekend we finally made it through a work event that we’ve been planning since last summer. Glad to have it off the calendar, and it went really well! Today, I have to go to the dentist (womp!) but I’m also planning on giving one of those new S’mores frappuccinos a try. After of course (don’t tell my dentist though)! But the biggest news from the past week is definitely that my boyfriend Chet is NOW OFFICIALLY A DOCTOR! He completed his PhD!!! I could not be more proud and happy for him. Have you gotten some exciting news this week, too? Do share! And here are some links for you to enjoy…

How’s it going this week? On Monday I got to tune in to a livestream of the National Forensics Association awards ceremony, and I had a blast doing psycho things like applaud my computer screen and occasionally burst into tears. Congratulations to the 2015 national champions — Western Kentucky University! Also, it was great chatting with past teammates online while we watched. I am always so moved by how much we all still care about this activity. Hope everyone has a good rest of the week, and if you were at NFA I hope you get some rest! Now enjoy the links…

What are you up to this week? This past weekend was in the 70’s and sunny, so I had a lovely time zipping around the city and even took in an outdoor percussion concert. Can’t wait for summer adventures to begin! Have a great Wednesday, and here’s a little link love from me to you…

What are you up to this week? I went to Marikka’s on Saturday to watch the Final Four games (UK lost, BOO!), and I was excited to follow updates from the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament on Sunday and Monday. The (online) coverage culminated in a livestream of the award’s ceremony which was so fun to get to watch while group-chatting with a huge contingency of WKU forensics alums. The tournament’s Pacific time zone had me up well past my bedtime but was totally worth it to watch Western Kentucky take home the championship. By a nail-biting FOUR POINTS! Have a stupendous week, and keep reading (and clicking) for some neat links from around the ‘net…

The Queen has arrived with this week’s Finding Delight mid-week links round-up! For those who don’t know, I’m Adam, and publishing this post in memoriam of Finding Delight’s editor-in-chief. (JK she’s still alive). Full disclosure — I’ve waited a year to guest post on Finding Delight, a feat that has been delayed solely by way of my own laziness and HGTV. But since this go-get-em blog is celebrating its 1 year anniversary(!), I’m taking the opportunity to give lazy Beth a posting break.

Below, please find links to a few of the things that have given me pause for thought over the past few days:

This Kylie Jenner birthday post definitely gave me pause for thought.

You just you simply must go see this documentary: Ballet 422.

Speaking of movies, did you catch Cinderella at the theater this weekend? I bet you didn’t know the original Cinderella’s more complicated backstory, aside from her scrubby clothes.

This song rocks.

Did you know poop will be the ruin of Mt. Everest?

Please read this long read: “My Saga, Part 2: Karl Ove Knausgaard’s Passage through America.” And read the beautiful Part 1 via last week’s mid-week round-up. (Also note: Part 1 sharing credit should have been directed to this post’s author. Note to editors: I’ve note-ified my agent of the oversight. Final note: Noter and out.)

Are you in your PJs? Need a hard cry? Watch this less than 3 minute video produced by The Man.

Ashely Judd: This wildcat womyn is maybe my spirit animal.

KALE!

Check out this newsletter — I’m its managing editor.

Follow me on Twitter. And on Instagram if ya nasty.

And just because I can-can, here’s a Beyoncé music video you’re required to watch. Under Beyoncé law, of which we are all, you are indeed required to view/pray with this video before continuing your day.

…I’ll wait…

Bless you.

And that’s all you get this week! In all seriousness, congratulations on year 1 of new delights found, Beth. This blog rocks and has forever changed the way I think about soup broths and Gwyneth Paltrow—at the same time. To everyone else, please share this post at your heart’s delight.
