We were able to spend some time with dear friends, watch amazing and intelligent performances, and attend a super lively awards ceremony where the team was named NATIONAL RUNNER’S UP!!! Huge congratulations to the nicest group of college students I’ve ever met…you blew me away every step of the way. ❤ Dear people not involved in speech & debate, if you ever get the opportunity to attend and observe a national tournament, DO IT! What are you up to this week? I arrived back in Miami on Monday evening after a few days at Western Kentucky University with the Forensics Team. They are preparing for two upcoming national tournaments and I was so excited to be a small part of their preparations. Such a talented, intelligent and  passionate team! Lucky for me, the first national tournament is coming up this weekend in Gainesville, FL. So, Chet and I are headed up this Friday. He’s never been to a national tournament on the college level so I’m excited for his experience. Especially because collegiate speech and debate was (and forever will be) such a big part of my life. Welcome to Wednesday! How has everyone been? Last week Chet was on Spring Break so we were able to sneak away to the beach a couple times. I finished this book with my toes in the sand. Not exactly light, fluffy beach reading but fascinating just the same. Now I’m reading a book about home design, feng shui, and self awareness. It includes a lot of exercises and self-guided meditations to help you design a “home for your heart.” Yesterday, I completed an activity where I sketched out the floor-plan of a dream-house I “visited” while meditating. Apparently I want a 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage with a big front porch, screened in breakfast nook, and a table specifically reserved for crafting. Sounds about right. (Does all of that sound crazy? Meh. I’m into it, whatevs.) Anyways, this week I’ve been taking it easy and trying to get as much work done as possible because I’m headed back to Bowling Green on Friday, get back Monday, and then Chet and I are off to Gainesville the following Friday to judge at a national speech tournament! Should be a fun couple of weeks! Now, on to the links…

Hi loves! How’s your week going so far? Chet is back from a week-long work trip and I am ever so glad!!! This week’s forecast is full of warm and sunny weather so we headed to the beach for a couple of hours yesterday. We are also planning on hitting up the pool and maybe sauntering down to a new-to-us park I found while on an evening stroll last week. We’ve also been researching potential locations to go camping in the near future. I’ve found a few that look promising, but I’d love to know if you’ve ever been camping around South Florida, The Everglades, or The Keys! Any spots we should know about? What’s everyone up to this week? My sister and her friend came for a visit over the weekend, and we had a great time exploring the huge park in my neighborhood and eating the yummiest Cuban food. Hi friends! What’s been happening? Chet and I went furniture shopping on Saturday. We got a new couch and a futon for his office (among a myriad of other things…it was Ikea after all!). I’d say it was a success and I’m LOVING the total transformation our living room has undergone with the furniture update and just a little bit of re-arranging. Oh, and thank you so much for all your sweet input on this big decision! I was so flattered by your thoughtful consideration of the options. How’s your week faring? I got a dose of winter over the weekend during my quick trip up to Kentucky. There was snow on the ground when I woke up Sunday morning and snowed the whole way down to the Nashville Airport (where I was flying out from). I was worried my flight wouldn’t make it out! I so enjoyed getting to spend some time with the Western Kentucky University Forensics Team and loved catching up with friends. A piece of my heart is forever and always reserved for these folks and that team. I’m beyond blessed whenever I get the opportunity to go back and watch new generations speak their truths and their passions. Wednesday again! What are y’all up to? Chet and I got dressed up and went to The Frost Museum on Saturday night for the opening of the Shakespeare’s First Folio exhibit. It’s always fun to have a reason to get cute AND geek out simultaneously. Haha! The book was open to the “To be or not to be” page of Hamlet which was definitely a nice choice. There’s just something so wrong about a book behind glass though. I wanted to flick through it so bad! Wouldn’t it be amazing to feel all that history at your finger-tips?
