Hope everyone had a fun Halloween! Did you do anything spooky? Dress up in a costume? We ventured down to Homestead and enjoyed an afternoon walking along Biscayne Bay and laying out by the beach. Then we headed home for a chili dinner and “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Despite my best door decorating efforts, we didn’t get any Trick-or-Treaters. WOMP-womp. But I think Chet’s students appreciated our candy surplus on Monday! ; ) Now I’ve got a busy few days of work and preparation ahead of me because this time next week I’ll be on my way to New Orleans! Woohoo! Enjoy your Wednesday and a few links…

How is everyone doing this week? This past weekend Chet and I saw “The Martian”–a total must-see! The forecast called for lots of rain, so we planned accordingly, even though it never seemed to materialize more than a sprinkle. We had hoped for a trip to the beach but a movie theater date and a productive Sunday of errands and cleaning I GUESS is a close second, haha! Fingers crossed for good weather THIS weekend. Meanwhile, we’ll be watching spooky movies and chowing down on the Halloween cupcakes we baked. Hope your days leading up to Saturday’s holiday are festive and (purposefully) frightful, and here are some links for you to enjoy in the mean time…

How’s your week going so far??? The weather here has been so pleasant lately but eerily windy! Perfect conditions for putting up some Halloween decorations around the apartment. On Sunday, it finally felt cool enough to pack up a blanket and a picnic and spend the afternoon at the park across the street from us. The weather wasn’t the only thing on point at the park. The people watching was amazing! All the shelters were occupied with large birthday parties; complete with decorations, music, and bounce houses. Miami-folk take their celebrations seriously! Anywho, enjoy the rest of your week and here are a few things worth reading…

What’s everyone up to this week? My birthday was Monday, and I was so happy to celebrate on Sunday with a trip to the beach, delicious seafood, and a Nutella birthday cake. As an October baby from a land-locked state, I never thought I’d be in the ocean on my birthday! It was crazy exciting! Thank you to all my friends and family for sending their love on my special day and of course to Chet for making my birthday, and every day, a wonderful adventure. It’s gonna be a good year! As always, I hope the rest of your week is full of fun and here are some links for today’s enjoyment…

What are you up to this week? Fall is here!!! Even in South Florida the weather has cooled a bit, the sunshine has that golden glow, and there’s a frequent lovely breeze blowing. This is my last week being in my twenties so I intend to eat autumnal desserts, plan a well-deserved beach trip, and make toasts over Gin & Ginger Ales that end in “R.I.P. 20’s!” Thanks to everyone who made this past year so wonderful. Now, bring on the big 3-0! Happy Wednesday to all of you lovely readers; please enjoy these links…

Happy Wednesday! What have you been doing this week? I just got back last night from a whirl-wind trip to Tampa, by way of train, to see my sister’s musical. She not only rocked the stage as the leading lady but she also wrote the whole thing! I was so proud. And it was great to see her and my mom. We got to enjoy some lovely catch-up time over coffee and brunch. The journey was super fun, too. I find train travel so much more relaxing than airplanes. And way more leg room! Have you traveled by train recently? Hope you have a lovely week, and enjoy the following round-up of links…

What are you up to, my loves? This past weekend Chet and I explored Coconut Grove. The temperature felt quite mild due to it’s proximity to the water but the humidity was still as gnarly and tropical as ever! Chet vlogged the whole adventure if you’d like to take a look HERE. Yesterday was a really productive day for me job-wise and I hope that work flow continues the rest of the week. I think this was due in large part to Chet fixing our internet which had been super spotty and annoying for the last week. Finally, we watched the movie Faults last night. Have you seen it? I love anything about cults so I was a huge fan. Have a great week, guys! And here’s a little reading material…

How is everyone doing this week? Not loving all these rainy days we’ve been getting! It’s definitely warm enough for the pool so why can’t the sun just peek out a little bit! Oh well, I guess this is what Fall in Florida is like. Anyways, the threat of rain inspired us to go to the art museum the other day so I can’t complain TOO much. The exhibits were beautiful! Also, did anyone watch the So You Think You Can Dance finale? This was such a good season!!! I think I’ve successfully convinced Chet that we will be replacing it in our weekly line-up with Dancing With the Stars (which just started on Monday). I’ve only caught bits and pieces of this show over the years but I’m ready to dive in. The “stars” this year look nuts! Hope the rest of your week brings you lots of happiness, and here are a few links for you to enjoy today…

What wonderful things have you been up to, my loves? We enjoyed some extra relaxation time with the holiday weekend, and took a trip to explore Coral Gables on Sunday. I’ve also been introducing Chet to one of my (many) reality TV obsessions, the PBS historical documentary “- House” series. (Like Frontier House, Colonial House, etc.) Have you seen them? Hope you have a wonderful rest of your week, and while you’re at it, take a look at these treats the internet has to offer…

Hey friends! We had the best time this weekend! Thankfully, Hurricane Erika turned into just a bit of rain by the time she reached us on Sunday. Now we’re back to hot and sunny days and floating in the pool whenever we get a free hour. Despite the gloomy weekend weather, we managed to pack in trips to Ikea (followed by several hours of furniture assembly), a little gyro shop, and an arcade. And I’ve already been loving working from my new desk this week! Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday, and here are some links for you to enjoy…
